Valentine's Day Heartbreakers Ball!

Tell us your worst breakup story. We'll give you the mic in between sets. Come make our bartender cringe or cry.  Sign ups before the show. Worst story wins a prize.

New Noise Magazine
New Noise Magazine
Five years ago, a long-simmering idea came to fruition: a magazine, unbound by the shackles of genre, covering the best music from bands worth discovering and the art, industry, and scenes that surround it. Now, on the anniversary of that momentous day, New Noise is teaming up with the Ivy Room to kick off our monthly celebration of the underground.

We are proud to announce a special New Noise Night, taking place on the third Thursday of every month. It's time to translate our mission from the page to the stage, bringing intimate performances, challenging art, totally-not-douchey DJs, and all kinds of surprises to the East Bay.

Consider this your wild card show, the soft launch into your weekend. We’re putting together something special, and you are guaranteed to have a good time.

Our inaugural New Noise Night is actually three nights. Yes, plural! Why?! 'Cuz it worked out that way, shut up.

The first, Valentine’s Day, will feature Swiftumz, The Love-Birds, and Teenage Sex (the band, you pervs!).

Night two, Thursday 2/15, is a seeecret, but trust us... It’s worth marking your calendar for!

Finally, night three, Friday 2/16, will feature Samiam, SMOKERS, Sciatic Nerve, and Anti-Social.

Teenage Sex
Teenage Sex
We are friends writing and playing music together. We each also play in or played in Nasty Christmas, General Hospital and Courtney n the Crushers. This all started in summer of 2015.
The Love-Birds
The Love-Birds
San Francisco’s The Love-Birds make the kind of fuzzy, hook-filled indie rock that was all over college radio in the mid-’90s: think Teenage Fanclub’s sense of melody with Pavement’s sense of tuning.
