Coolzey
Coolzey
Golden era hip-hop roots planted in black Iowa dirt and tempered by 90s alternative era rock influence yields a juxtaposition of the dark, horrific nature of life paired with a slapstick and comedic view of the world, allowing for a wide, unpredictable arsenal of material ranging from soul-spilling indie bedroom rock to wise-cracking battle rap and on to radio pop.

Coolzey stepped into the public eye around 2005 with a demo album and a series of exploratory DIY tours with rapper/comedian and friend Schaffer the Darklord. Interest spread quickly and Coolzey found himself touring alongside hip-hop legends from Brand Nubian and Jurassic 5 as well as punk rock heroes like Dead Milkmen. Coolzey’s first album ‘The Honey’ was released in 2010 and second official full-length ‘Hit Factory’ in 2013. In these albums as well as in a number of EPs, collaborations and side projects, he finds his niche as a songwriter, navigating hip-hop, rock, punk and pop in the spirit of genre defying influences such as Ween, Beck, The Beastie Boys and Outkast.

Coolzey’s love for multiple genres can also be evidenced in his record label Public School Records, which curates music from grimy underground hip-hop like Copywrite to the art pop of Belly Belt.

I am a whiskey drinking, boat shoe wearing, MC/DJ/Producer who currently resides on a Megabus between a pair of imitation BeatsbyDre Headphones. Still in a committed relationship with my first love, Hip Hop. However, I tend to have affairs with other genres. My iTunes playlist consist of everything from Oasis to Immortal Technique. But, I'd rather experience music live. Or, recreate it with my band. My rhymes are more often about student loans then "ridin spinnaz". I won't own a chain. But, I'd totally rock a grill. Baseball is my favorite sport. Olivia Munn is my celebrity crush. And, I can quote all of season 3 of "The Wire". I vote because its my responsibility. I walk between the lady and the street. I live my life with passion and love. Follow the golden rule. And, I believe in Good People, Good Vibes, and Good Art. #BalloonUP
OneWerd
OneWerd
ONEWERD - A rapper and producer from the SF Bay Area, the journey has always been about the music, and vice versa. Hip Hop for the Bay Area emcee and producer began in the SF bay area amidst a haze of graffiti-based classroom scribbles, open-mic freestyle cyfers, and the peak of the mid 90’s underground scene. Over the course of the last decade and a half, he has toured both coasts of the US, released 7 self-produced albums, collaborated with a plethora of underground names, and maintained a monthly showcase of local and touring artists in SF’s SOMA district.

OneWerd’s music and production span a wide spectrum of topics and styles, ranging from abstract introspection over ethereal synths and layered drumwork, to breakneck-lyrical cadence over grinding bass textures. From the humorous, trap-based chronicles of life as the owner of a calculator watch, to the technically layered lyricism of staying inspired in a steadily deteriorating industry, diversity of stlye is a key ingredient to Werd’s formula.

Currently signed to LA-based Acid Lab Records, OneWerd has collaborated and shared the stage with Myka 9, Scarub, Aceyalone, 2Mex, Sapient, Gajah, LuckIam, Ceschi, Moodie Black, Brzowski, Bop Alloy, VerBs, Abstract Rude, Candlespit Collective, Adder, Spoken Nerd, and many more.

A New Hope
We're A New Hope. We started making music together in 2007 back in high school. Since then we have produced 5 independent albums. Pretty much been writing and recording music nonstop the entire time. In 2010 Thomas joined the Air Force and every project we've released has been written with us in either separate states and currently separate countries, the distance never slowed down the production or passion to make the music we do. So check it out and give it a listen.
