Brothers Prince
Brothers Prince
Oakland natives and twin brothers Ambrose and Austin Prince began creating as soon as they could hold an idea in their head for long enough to get it out through words, movements or on to paper.

When the two were kids, creation took place primarily through drawing and playing dress-up (placing underwear on their heads as scuba masks and extra large tube socks on their feet as flippers, pretending to be the great sea explorer Jaques Cousteau). In high school they found outlets in "turf dancing" and running a small custom airbrushing business out of their parents tool shed. In college they began writing and singing songs, and post college they decided to try their hand at photography and video making.

This is the place where all of these passions come together.

Mix the spirited soulfulness of Musiq with the laid-back island vibes of Jack Johnson, and the lyrical rap precision of J. Cole, then add a dash of indie rock from the likes of Cold War Kids and the Black Keys and you have something of the pallet from which The Brothers Prince create their sound.

Getting their start as entertainers in high school during Oakland’s Hyphy movement through “turf dancing,” front men (and identical twins) Ambrose and Austin have continued to pursue their artistic passions through music composition and performance with their latest project, The Brothers Prince. The band came together organically in 2015 when the twins and their long time drummer Phil Stein-Webber linked up with bassist, Derek Frye and vocalist/keyboardist, Adi Wickham-Gobert. “We got in the studio to record some new songs with Derek and Adi for fun and things just clicked,” explained Ambrose, “we just had to start a band.”
Ellisa Sun
Ellisa Sun
In a world where drum machines and computer sounds dominate the musical landscape, Ellisa Sun aims to create genuine music with soul. Raised in the city of angles and now calling the San Francisco Bay Area (Oakland, to be more precise) home, Ellisa has found inspiration in artists such as Amy Whinehouse, Lauryn Hill, Florence and the Machine, and Gavin Degraw. Ellisa blends old time soul music with R&B and more wordly influences like bossanova. This unique blend of genres has garnished some notariety from local critics; Ellisa was named a top emerging artist by SF Deli magazine and SF weekly called her song “Unravel” “as near to perfect as any song could be” and “damn gorgeous”.

Ellisa released her debut album in April of 2017 and has been playing shows throughout San Francisco, Oakland, Los Angeles, and Portland to growing and enthusiastic crowds. Ellisa has also played many Sofar Sounds shows, joining the likes of notable artists such as Leon Bridges, Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and Bastille.
