Roselit Bone
Roselit Bone
Formed in Portland in 2011 by Joshua McCaslin and Ben Dahmes, Roselit Bone has since expanded into a 9-piece - featuring pedal steel, trumpets, flute, accordion - that combines the visceral, haunting songwriting and energy of roots-driven post-punk bands (i.e. the Gun Club and the Birthday Party) with elements of Mexican ranchera, midcentury singing cowboys, and spaghetti western soundtracks.

The Bye Bye Blackbirds 'Record Release'
For nearly 10 years The Bye Bye Blackbirds have been standard bearers for guitar-based power pop in the Bay Area. An explosive live act and a dedication to smart, sophisticated songwriting have earned them a loyal following, along with comparisons to Sloan, The Replacements, Big Star, and The Kinks. Two previous full-length albums (2008's House & Homes and 2011's Fixed Hearts) established their credentials as lyrically rich and sophisticated, armed with infectious hooks and harmonies and lush guitar playing. As a live band, the energetic and gritty performances have won over audiences at venues like The Great American Music Hall, the Café Du Nord, and The Bottom of the Hill. The new album, We Need The Rain, marries the studio and live experiences into a fully realized, seamless whole. Bun E. Carlos (of Cheap Trick) calls it "Power Pop at its finest".
Anna Hillburg
Anna Hillburg
Anna Hillburg (of San Francisco's power-pop darlings, Dreamdate).
A classically trained trumpet player, Anna has spent the last decade in the Bay Area garage rock scene as a songwriter, singer, drummer, and bass player. Her songs have been covered by the likes of Mates of State, and her trumpet playing has been featured on the albums of local artists such as The Dodos (Time to Die 2009), Greg Ashley (Requiem Mass & Other Experiments 2010), and the Fresh & Onlys.

After years of collaborations and lending her talents out, Anna strikes out on her own with this impressive breakout album-- finding her unique voice while showcasing her talents as a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. The record was recorded over the course of two years on analog tape by Greg Ashley (Gris Gris) at the Creamery Studios in Oakland, California, and features guest appearances by Logan Kroeber (The Dodos), Joe Haener (Gris Gris), and Greg Moore (The Moore Brothers, Joanna Newsom).

Hillburg's songs are modern and fresh while also being eerily reminiscent of some of the best singer-songwriters of the classic era. She easily calls to mind the classic pop sensibilities of Harry Nillson, the romantic drama of Fleetwood Mac, the confessional lyricism of Joni Mitchell, and the effortless hooks of Paul McCartney--all without sacrificing her own strong and individual voice.
Trip Wire
Trip Wire
TRIP WIRE is an indie rock band from San Francisco favoring tight harmonies and 3-minute songs with memorable hooks inspired by The Beatles, The Replacements, Guided By Voices and Teenage Fanclub among others.

They have found a fan base in the resurgent Power Pop community and have had their songs included on the highly influential and widely regarded Power Pop compilations from Sweden’s ICE CREAM MAN and David Bash’s INTERNATIONAL POP OVERTHROW (IPO). They have played the San Francisco IPO Festival three straight years to favorable reviews.

Their songs “Stay”, “She Handles Well”, “1973” and “Long Days Gone” have been played in heavy rotation on the radio show POP THAT GOES CRUNCH.COM with Jeffrey Raskin, PurePopRadio.Com with Alan Haber, and The Music Authority with Jim Prell, three of the Power Pop community’s strongest supporters.

TRIP WIRE’s first full length album “Get In & Get Out” on EVER UPWARD RECORDS is distributed via KOOL KAT MUSIK and is showing steady sales since its release in June, 2015. In January 2016 they made the best albums of 2015 list by POP THAT GOES CRUNCH.COM and were reviewed favorably in The Big Takeover by Jack Rabid.

Their second album “Seizureville” was released August 2016 via EVER UPWARDS RECORDS. The album is a departure from the first album with a decidedly more introspective, Psychedelic Americana feel. Contributing musicians included on the record are local favorites Tom Heyman (Go to Blazes, Court & Spark, John Doe) on pedal steel and Scott Young (Red Meat) on trombone.

Trip Wire just released their third album “Cold Gas Giants” in July, 2017 on the Kool Kat Musik label.

TRIP WIRE was formed by Marty Schneider and Bill Hunt who have contributed to the San Francisco Bay Area indie music scene for the past 20 years with bands Light Sleepers, The Midway Delta, The Campbell Apartment, Captain Fatass, and The Generous Grants. They recently replaced their rhythm section with Stu Shader (percussion) who has professionally gigged in the Bay Area music scene (On Broadway, Berkeley Square, Oasis, The Edge) for several years during the 1980's. At that time, he studied at Blue Bear School of Music where he had the opportunity to play with various members of Santana, Steve Miller, Chuck Prophet and Greg Kihn. He was also the drummer for John Hitchcock's big band. Jeff Shelton, the mastermind behind Power Pop stalwarts Spinning Jennies and The Well Wishers, joined the band on bass and guitar.

Over the last three years TRIP WIRE have performed at notable venues Bottom of the Hill, The Hotel Utah, The Makeout Room and Amnesia in San Francisco and have also played The Starry Plough in Berkeley and Winters Tavern in Pacifica.
