No Lovely Thing featuring Melissa Jones
No Lovely Thing featuring Melissa Jones
No Lovely Thing is a seven piece funk & soul band from Oakland, CA. Led by singer Melissa Jones’ percussive melodies, the band brings elements of blues, ska, reggae & jazz into the mix, leaving room for improvisation, giving each song the chance to blow up. The band has been compared to Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings, Sly & The Family Stone, The White Stripes and Alabama Shakes.

Imagine stepping back in time to the 1920′s when ragtime-based traditional jazz was the thing, fresh and original, rollicking, funny, tragic and, in essence, a party waiting to happen, and you got Hobo Paradise, a super band of the Bay Area’s finest horn players and rhythm section.

Douglas Allen
The songs of Douglas Allen are soulful, raw, and sweet. Born the son of a farmer, this ex-baptist preacher uses his guitar as his conduit of emotion. Heavily influenced by early Soul and Folk Music, his music has a unique mix of a skilled songwriter and a voice that exudes passion. Coming on the Bay Area Music Scene in 2012 as part of the folk/blues band Blood & Dust, Douglas Allen continues to put heart into music.
